Evangelical's 2023 Spring Schedule
As a reminder, Evangelical College & Seminary exists to glorify the God of the Bible, enhance the ministry of the local church, and disciple believers through Biblical higher education at a reasonable tuition for commuting Christian students.
For the Spring Semester, the School will be offering the following four courses:
“Through the Bible” with Pastor John Foxx. John is a gifted Bible teacher, and his knowledge of Scripture is extensive.
Pastor John’s classes are held at First Baptist Church’s north campus in downtown Plant City. The address is 503 N. Palmer St. Plant City, FL. 33563. The student may enter through the glass doors at the address above. Upon entering, the Sanctuary is the first door on the left. His phone number is 813-478-5754.
Pastor John offers a deep dive through the entire Bible. Typically, each book is taught chapter-by-chapter, verse-by-verse. Much attention is given to spiritual formation; prophecy; Bible codes; proper hermeneutics; application; understanding difficult passages; true science; young-earth creationism; and understanding the Bible as an integrated message from beyond our space-time continuum, transmitted by the Holy Spirit through some 48 human authors.
All classes are taught live on Thursday nights at 6:30pm. Classes are livestreamed and available on Facebook: Pastor John Foxx Bible Studies. This course will begin January 19th and will cover all four Gospels. Any missed classes may be made up online.
“Biblical Prophecy of Things to Come” also known as Eschatology will be taught by Professor Bob Westlake at Bethany Baptist Church on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 pm, beginning on January 17th.
This course will be a comprehensive study of Biblical Prophecy regarding Future Events and will include a detailed examination of all Biblical references that relate to events following the current Church Age. This course will give students a clear view of God’s Kingdom Plan for His Creation and will generate the biblical attitudes of joy, peace, and contentment with a perspective of optimism regarding our future as believers. The course will be comprised of ten class meetings of approximately 90 minutes each.
“The Corinthian Letters” will be taught by Professor Aaron Brown at The Free Riders Fellowship Church on Wednesdays from 7 to 8 pm beginning on February 15th.
The course is an expositional study of the Corinthian Letters with emphasis on the key issues faced by the church in Corinth, including Division, Church Discipline, Christian Liberty, Orderly Worship, Spiritual Gifts, and more. There will be a focus on real life application of Biblical truths in order to further spiritual maturity.
Upon completion, the students will be able to:
“Practical Christianity” will be taught by Professor Morgan Whidden at Winston Baptist Church on Monday evenings at 6:30 pm beginning on January 23RD. It is the purpose of this course in “Practical Christianity to explain “the nuts and bolts” of Christianity. It is essentially an analysis of the book of James that gives practical instruction concerning what the Lord expects of His people. The Book was probably the first written of the New Testament books which speaks to the importance that God placed on it’s contents for the early Church and for us today. Our prayer is that the student not only gain practical knowledge, but also be drawn closer to the Lord through this study.
Questions can be addressed to Professor Whidden at 863-529-5012.
For the Spring Semester will be $80 per student or family. Scholarships are available to anyone needing financial assistance. Any questions can be addressed to Professor Westlake at 813-730-1016.
